Women's Lacrosse Rolls by Hope 16-2 in Spring Trip Finale

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The FDU-Florham women's lacrosse team scored the first 10 goals of the game, en route to a 16-2 victory over Hope College at the Wide World of Sports Complex on Thursday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils (4-2) complete their two-game trip a perfect 2-0, outscoring their opponents 34-7 in the process.

FDU-Florham featured a balanced attack on Thursday, as six different Devils scored at least two goals, led by Joelle Manganella (Kenvil, N.J.) and Courtney Rendinaro (Hillsborough, N.J.), who netted three goals apiece.

Less than one minute into action, Manganella fired the first strike, burying an unassisted goal, which set the tone for the rest of the day. A minute later, Rendinaro made it a 2-0 lead and after 10 minutes of play, the Devils had a 7-0 cushion.

Brianna Capobianco (Williston Park, N.Y.) scored twice, the second off of a helper from Manganella, while Brienna Reasoner (Flemington, N.J.), Frances Maggio (Bound Brook, N.J.), and Caitlyn McGinley (Mount Laurel, N.J.) all scored once and gave FDU-Florham a 10-0 first-half lead.

The Flying Dutch (0-4) broke into the scoring column when Molly Greenfield scored off of an assist from Amie Hixon just 15 seconds before the halftime horn sounded. Greenfield registered Hope's lone second-half goal with 7:11 to play in regulation, as the Devils outscored the Flying Dutch 6-1 in the second half to seal the comfortable victory.

McGinley, Capobinaco, Reasoner, and Maggio all finished with two goals, while Dana Amorosi (Deptford, N.J.) and Noelle Shirey (Pine Beach, N.J.) each added one. In addition to their three goals, Manganella and Rendinaro each added two helpers to their ledger in the win.

FDU-Florham senior goalkeeper Nina Andersen (Robbinsville, N.J.) came off of the bench and played the majority of the game, making four saves to earn her first victory of the campaign.

The Devils return to action this Wednesday, March 25 when they visit Montclair State University at 3 p.m.
