Box Score Old Westbury, N.Y.— The FDU-Florham women's soccer team blanked the SUNY College at Old Westbury Panthers on Saturday afternoon 4-nil, earning their third victory of the 2013 campaign.
The Devils (3-1) were sharp from the outset, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead courtesy of two eighth-minute goals by
Claire Donohue and
Michelle Hickey. Donohue and Hickey have now found the back of the net in consecutive games.
FDU's defense was the story in this one, as the Devils limited the Panthers (1-1) to just two scoring opportunities, outshooting Old Westbury 19-2 on the day.
Senior striker
Samantha Messina capped a two-point effort with a strike from the left side, beating the Panther goaltender to the far post for the Devils third goal of the match.
Stefanie Granato added the icing to the cake by banging home her first goal of the season in the 72
nd minute off a Hickey rebound, equating to the 4-0 final.
