Box Score DALLAS, Pa. – The FDU-Florham Devils women's soccer team fell to #10 Misericordia University 5-0 in the semi-finals of the Freedom Conference tournament on Tuesday night.
Freedom Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Megan Mahoney, led the way for the Cougars totaling two goals and three assists in the win.
The Cougars got on the board 29:21 into play when Mahoney connected with teammate Emily Esposito to provide Misericordia a 1-0 advantage.
Ten minutes later, Misericordia added a second goal when Mahoney set up sophomore forward Meghan Antrim to send the Cougars into the half with a 2-0 lead.
Misericordia tacked on three second-half goals to put the game away, resulting in the 5-0 win.
The Devils were outshot 21-8 on the night with seniors
Samantha Messina (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) and
Claire Donohue (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) totaling three shots apiece. FDU-Florham drops to 10-11 on the season while the Cougars improve to 17-2-1 with the win.
Freshman goalkeeper
Annie George (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) made five stops for the Devils in defeat.
FDU-Florham now awaits a potential Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament bid on November 11th.
