Box Score CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The FDU-Florham Devils women's soccer team earned their first Freedom Conference victory of the season by defeating the DeSales Bulldogs 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

In the 43^rd minute of the match, senior Michelle Hickey (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) set up the Devils (7-8, 1-2 MAC) victory by netting her sixth goal of the season off of an assist from Colleen Furbeck (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert).

Only 1:35 into play, Devils senior Samantha Messina (Landing, N.J./Roxbury) drove home a through ball from teammate Brittni Calleo (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) for the first goal of the match.

The Bulldogs (6-4-3, 0-1-1 MAC) responded when Ashley Koren found herself one-on-one with FDU goalkeeper Annie George (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls).  Koren snuck a shot inside the far post, evening the score at one goal aside.

The game remained knotted until Hickey managed to dribble past Bulldog goalkeeper Michelle Churchman and put away the game's decisive goal.

The victory is the Devils fifth in a row over the Bulldogs.

Furbeck's assist was her first of the 2013 campaign and the goal for senior forward Messina is her seventh of the season.
