Box Score DALLAS, PA - After not having touched a soccer ball since last Saturday due to Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, the fourth-seeded College at Florham Devils were defeated by top-seeded Misericordia by a score of 5-1 in the Semifinals of the Freedom Conference Tournament on Friday evening.
With the loss, the Devils finish the 2012 season with a record of 7-13 while the Cougars improved to 7-13-1 and will go on to host the Freedom Conference Tournament Finals.
The Devils got off to exactly the start they were looking for when junior forward
Samantha Messina found the back of the net to give FDU a 1-0 lead just 10:25 into the contest. The Cougars came right back though, tying the game at 1-1 four minutes later before grabbing a 2-1 advantage with 3:59 to go in the first half. Misericordia jumped out to a 3-1 lead 8:56 into the second half and made it 4-1 in the 56th minute. The Cougars sealed the win with an insurance goal with 12:35 to play.
