Devils Down Rutgers-Newark, 3-1

Box Score MADISON, NJ - Junior midfielder Jennifer DiGioia scored two goals while junior forward Michelle Hickey added a goal and an assist to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 3-1 victory over Rutgers-Newark in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

With the win, the Devils improved to 3-9.

FDU got on the board first when DiGioia converted a pass from junior forward Claire Donohue at the 15:18 mark.  DiGioia then made it 2-0 nine minutes later when she knocked home a pass from Hickey.  The Scarlet Raiders cut it to 2-1 just 1:07 into the second half but FDU got that goal back in the 63rd minute to seal the win when Hickey found the back of the net.  FDU controlled the action for most of the game, holding a 20-7 edge in shots and a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Anna Bandly picked up the win, making three saves.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at home for Homecoming against Wilkes beginning at 11 am.
