Box Score MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Eastern, 1-0, on Senior Night in Freedom Conference action on Friday evening.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 6-11 (3-3 Freedom) while the Eagles improved to 9-5-2 (4-1-1 Freedom). If the Devils win their final conference game of the season, next Saturday afternoon, they will assure themselves a spot in the upcoming Freedom Conference Tournament.
Although the first half was scoreless, each squad had good opportunities to get on the board. The second half was more back-and-forth action until about seven minutes remained in the game. That's when FDU got its best look of the night as junior forward
Samantha Messina dribbled around what seemed like the entire Eastern defense and fired a shot from 20 yards out that went just high. The Eagles scored the lone goal of the contest two minutes later when
Ashley Graybill corraled a rebound, dribbled in and found the back of the net.
Freshman goalkeeper
Anna Bandly suffered the hard-luck loss, making three saves.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at home against cross-town rival Drew beginning at 7 pm.
