Devils Even Conference Record With 2-1 Win Over King's

Box Score WILKES-BARRE, PA - After a scoreless first half, the College at Florham Devil used two goals in the first eight minutes of the second stanza to pick up a big Freedom Conference road victory at King's, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils improved to 5-10 (2-2 Freedom) while the Monarchs dropped to 3-9-1 (1-3 Freedom).

Each squad had a few opportunities in the first half but neither converted.  FDU got on the board first, just 1:56 into the second half when junior forward Claire Donohue found the back of the net.  The Devils made it 2-0 six minutes later as sophomore midfielder Katie Parrotta tallied what turned out to be the game-winning goal.  King's cut it to 2-1 at the 53:46 mark but the FDU defense stood tall for the remainder of the game to earn the hard-fought victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Anna Bandly picked up the win, making one save.

The Devils return to action on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Delaware Valley beginning at 4 pm.
