MADISON, NJ - The College at Florham Devils defeated St. Joseph's (L.I.), 2-0, in non-conference action at Shields Field on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 4-3-1.
FDU got the scoring started when freshman midfielder
Claire Donohue (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Regional) converted a pass from freshman defender
Colleen Furbeck (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) at the 18:38 mark. The Devils dominated possession for the remainder of the first half and throughout most of the second half, but they could not tack on an insurance goal until sophomore midfielder
Ashley Vieira (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Regional) found the back of the net with 1:26 left in the contest. For the game, FDU held a 21-5 edge in shots and an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior goalkeeper
Lauren Albrecht (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) picked up the win, making five saves.
The Devils return to action on Friday, September 24, 2010, at Lycoming beginning at 4 pm.
