HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - Despite two goals from junior forward
Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert), the College at Florham Devils were defeated by Lebanon Valley, 3-2, on the second day of the Centenary Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 0-3.
Kanickij started the scoring just 6:05 into the game when she converted a pass from junior forward
Lora Fink (Hamilton Square, NJ/Pennington Prep). The Dutchmen came back to tie the game at 1-1 at the 11:39 mark and then they grabbed a 2-1 lead only 1:21 later. Kanickij struck again to make the score 2-2 with 22:31 left in the first half and the the two teams played even for the remainder of the stanza. Lebanon Valley scored the game winner 12:41 into the second half when the Devils turned the ball over in their own zone.

Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ/Mendham) started the game and allowed two goals while making two saves. Sophomore goalkeeper
Lauren Albrecht (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) allowed one goal and also made two saves.
The Devils return to action on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Rutgers-Newark beginning at 4 pm.
