MADISON, NJ - Junior forward
Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) scored two goals in a span of 1:22 in the second half to give the College at Florham Devils a 2-1 win over Kean in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 2-3-1.
Kean got out to a 1-0 lead at the 20:16 mark and took that advantage into the intermission before Kanickij found the back off the net off of a pass from junior forward
Lora Fink (Hamilton Square, NJ/Pennington Prep) at the 61:31 mark. Kanickij then gave FDU the game-winner just 1:22 later with Fink and freshman midfielder
Ashley Vieira (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Regional) getting credited with assists. The Cougars had a few chances to tie the game down the stretch but the FDU defense turned them away.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Lauren Albrecht (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) picked up the win, playing the second half and allowing no goals while making seven saves. Sophomore goalkeeper
Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ/Mendham) started, allowing a goal and making three saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at St. Joseph's (L.I.) beginning at 1 pm.
