JERSEY CITY, NJ - The College at Florham Devils were knocked off by New Jersey City, 4-2, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 4-6-2.

The Gothic Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 22:40 mark but the game was even throughout the rest of the first half.  Junior forward Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) converted a pass from junior forward Lora Fink (Hamilton Square, NJ/Pennington Prep) to tie the game at 1-1 just 5:11 into the second half.  NJCU responded with two consecutive goals, coming just 2:25 apart, to grab a 3-1 lead before Kanickij scored again for the Devils to cut it to 3-2 in the 77th minute.  Jersey City added an insurance goal at the 80:51 mark to seal the win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ/Mendham) started and played the first half, allowing one goal and making two saves.  Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Albrecht (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) played the second half, allowing three goals while making three saves.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at home against Misericordia beginning at 12 pm.
