MADISON, NJ - Junior forward
Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) scored two goals to lead the College at Florham Devils to their fourth straight win, a 5-4 triumph over cross-town rival Drew in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Devils improved to 8-8-2 while the Rangers dropped to 7-9-2.
The Devils jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 21:02 mark on a goal by freshman midfielder
Ashley Vieira (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Regional) but the Rangers came back to tie it at 1-1 just 4:00 later. Kanickij put FDU up 2-1 with 10:07 left before half but Drew tied it up at 2-2 only five minutes later. The Rangers took a 3-2 lead in the 63rd minute but sophomore midfielder
Jenna Campfield (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts Neck) tied it up, 3-3, at the 72:06 mark. Drew jumped back ahead, 4-3, in the 76th minute but sophomore midfielder
Kim Campfield (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts Neck) converted a pass from junior forward
Lora Fink (Hamilton Square, NJ/Pennington Prep) only two minutes later to pull the Devils even. Kanickij scored the game-winner for FDU with 9:27 left in the game and the Devils were able to hold on down the stretch for the win.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ/Mendham) picked up the win in net, making four saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, October 31, 2009, with their regular season finale at Eastern beginning at noon.
