PURCHASE, NY - The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Manhattanville, 2-1, in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Devils dropped to 4-8-2 (0-2-1 Freedom) while the Valiants improved to 11-1-1 (3-0 Freedom).
After a scoreless first half, Manhattanville started the scoring just 2:29 into the second stanza before making it 2-0 in the 57th minute. The Devils cut it to 2-1 at the 74:51 mark when junior forward
Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) converted a pass from sophomore midfielder
Kim Campfield (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts Neck). FDU had a couple of late chances to net the tying goal but the Valiant defense stood tall.

Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ/Mendham) made nine saves in goal, playing the entire game.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at DeSales beginning at Noon.
