Marc Mitchell enters his ninth season at the helm of the FDU-Florham Devils women's basketball program.

For the fifth straight season in 2016-17, Mitchell led the team to its fifth straight MAC Freedom Championship. Senior Alyssa McDonough became the third All-American in program history, while freshman Kendrea Williams was tabbed MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year as well as the D3Hoops.com Rookie of the Year.

Mitchell is the winningest coach in program history with an overall record of 165-60 (.733). In 2016, he navigated the Devils back to the NCAA Tournament for the third season in a row. as the team posted a 29-2 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Elight Eight.

In the 2014-15 season, Mitchell led FDU-Florham to their first NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship and a perfect 33-0 record. The Devils are the first NCAA women’s basketball champions in New Jersey. FDU-Florham defeated Tufts University and Whitman College on March 21st and 22nd at the Final Four in Stevens Point Wisconsin to claim the title.

On the 2012-13 campaign, he led the Devils to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after going 24-4 and leading the Devils to a Middle Atlantic Conference Championship. Mitchell was also named Freedom Conference Coach of the Year last season, his fourth with the Devils.

Before coming to FDU, Mitchell was the top assistant at Caldwell College in 2008-09.  He spent 2007-08 as an assistant coach at New Jersey City University and the three previous seasons as the Head Girl's Basketball Coach at Elizabeth High School.  While at Elizabeth, he led the squad to the County Semifinals in 2005 and to the State Tournament all three years.

He graduated from Kean University in 2000 with a degree in History and earned his Master's Degree in Education from American Intercontinental in 2008.

Mitchell currently resides in Elizabeth with his wife, Winsome, his two daughters, Amira and Jade, and his twin sons, Jemal and Jalen.Â
