In his senior season, defenseman Tommy Asselta (Bethpage, NY) has provided great leadership and exceptional play on the field for the Devils.
On Saturday, October 18 the Devils were deadlocked at 0-0 heading into overtime against the DeSales Bulldogs. The Devils offense worked their way into the box and Asselta received a pass from Dylan Meyler (Somerdale, N.J.). Asselta took the ball and sent a booming kick at the net past a diving goalkeeper to win a 1-0 game in thrilling fashion.
Asselta also racked up an assist in the Devils match against King’s College on Tuesday, October 14. He sent ball into the box on a free kick and Chaz Armand (Atlanta, GA) put the ball into the back of the net.
Asselta is at the top of the leaderboard in every statistical category for the Devils and leads the team with four goals and 11 points on the season.Â
