Freshman wide receiver Malik Pressley (Sayreville, N.J.) had a career game for the Devils on Saturday, October 11 against the Albright Lions. Pressley tied a school-record with 13 receptions for a career-high 195 yards and two touchdowns. His first score came four minutes into the game when quarterback Tyler Maurer (West Milford, N.J.) found Pressley for a 13-yard touchdown completion to give the Devils an early 7-0 lead.
Seven minutes later, with the score even at 7-7, Pressley caught his second touchdown of the day, capping off an 80-yard drive by the Devils. The Lions had no answer for Pressley all afternoon as he continued to rack up the yardage as the game carried on.
With the Devils trailing late in the game, Maurer targeted Pressley ten times, which allowed the young wide out to rack up 78 receiving yards in the fourth quarter. Pressley was the main focus of attention for a Devils offense that totaled 20 points on the day. He shined in the moment, putting up career numbers.
Just five games into his freshman season, Pressley has asserted himself as one of the biggest weapons on the Devils offense. He currently leads the team in receptions (36), receiving yards (374) and touchdowns with four. Pressley was also named to the Mac Weekly Honor Roll this past week.Â
