Each week former FDU-Florham men's basketball standout and current Sports Information Intern John Flete will select a student-athlete as the featured Devil of the Week. John's interview this week is with Devils Field Hockey senior Stephanie Geskes.

John: How did you become interested in field hockey?
Stephanie: My mom and sister got me into it in the third grade

J: What do you believe are your key strengths?
S: My defense is my key strength

J: What do you enjoy most about field hockey?
S: The family feel of a team, and I just love playing the sport.

J: How long have you been playing?
S: 14 years

J: What is your preferred field hockey stick type?
S: My favorite brand is Gryphon, and my stick name is sunshine because it is the same yellow stick I have been using since high school.

J: Is there any type of ritual that you have the night before a game?
S: As a team, we do team bonding together but other than that I keep the same regular routine

J: Do you have any team pre-game ritual you do?
S: In the locker room when we are going over game strategy, I stand next to my teammate Erin O’Connell

S: The University of Kansas Jayhawks basketball team
 
J: What is your favorite pregame meal?
S: Peanut butter and jelly sandwich 

J: What are your favorite movies?
S: Harry Potter and The Mighty Ducks

S: All-time it is One Tree Hill but currently Game of Thrones
 
J: What is your favorite pregame music you like to listen to?
S: I love any songs that get my teammates to sing along.
 
J: Who is your favorite actor/actress?
S: Channing Tatum
 
J: What is your favorite vacation that you been on?
S: When I went to Wroxton, England to study abroad
 
J: If you could visit one country which country would it be and why?
S: I’d have to say Greece because of how beautiful it looks and the history of it.
 
J: What is your favorite book?
S: Harry Potter
 
J: What is something that bothers you the most, your biggest “pet peeve”?
S: Terrible drivers
 
J: What do you do in your free time?
S: Watch shows on Netflix and go to the library to get my school work done
 
J: If you won the lottery what is the first thing you would buy?
S: I would pay all my tuition and then I would buy a brand new car.
