The FDU-Florham baseball team played five games last week and second baseman Nick Meoli recorded a hit in all of them. During the five game stretch he went 10-for-18 at the plate with eight RBIs and six runs scored. The Devils kicked off the weekend by squaring off in a conference doubleheader against the DeSales University Bulldogs on Saturday and Meoli went 3-for-3 in game one with two runs scored and 1-for-3 with a run scored in game two. The next day, Delaware Valley University came to Madison and Meoli played the hero role, leading the Devils to a doubleheader sweep over the Aggies. With the Devils trailing 3-0 in the first game, Meoli stepped up to the plate and blasted a three run home run over the left field fence to knot the game up at 3-3. In the bottom of the seventh with the game still tied, Meoli rifled a RBI single up the middle for the game winning run. Later that day, the Devils were trailing 6-2 in the fifth when Meoli then stepped up to the plate and hit his second three run home run of the afternoon. The Devils went on to win both games and in the series, Meoli batted 4-for-9 with eight RBIs and two runs scored. This past Monday, Meoli batted 2-for-3 with a run scored in a loss to DeSales. Meoli currently leads the team in average, home runs and RBIs.
