    The 2009 FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team registered one of the most successful seasons in program history. During this historic season under the direction of 
Pat Scarpello, the Devils went 13-5, claimed the top seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament and defeated Elizabethtown (10-8) and Widener (8-7) en route to the team's second MAC Freedom Championship in school history.
 
In the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Division III men's lacrosse championship tournament, FDU-Florham was edged by sixth-ranked Washington & Lee University but the Devils took the nationally-ranked Generals to overtime. 
Kevin Shadiak posted 50 goals and 16 assists, to lead FDU-Florham's offensive unit.
