Al Campora enters his tenth season coaching at FDU. Under Coach Campora, the program has had a dramatic turn-around in the last seven years, making the Freedom Conference Tournament each season and qualifying for the ECAC Tournament four times during that span.
This veteran spent four years coaching at St. Peter's College and one year at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Campora also coached Clarkstown South High school for nine years, Northern Valley Old Tappan for two, Kent Place School for four and Johnson Regional for three years. In 1990, Campora was honored as the Rockland County "Coach of the Year" and Rockland/Westchester County "Coach of the Year". In 1992, he recieved the MAAC Coach of the Year Award for volleyball.
Campora attended Northern Valley Regional High School in Northern Valley, New Jersey, where he was named all-league in football and track. He is an alumnus of Truman State University where he lettered in track. In 1966, he recieved his graduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
Campora now resides in Berkely Heights, NJ with his wife, Beverly.
