DEVILS DOWNED BY SCRANTON

SCRANTON, PA – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams were knocked off by Scranton on Saturday afternoon.  The men lost, 93-55, while the women fell, 118-40.

With the losses, the men dropped to 0-13 while the women are 0-14.

MEN – Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) finished first in the 100 breast in a time of 1:07.03 and posted a second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.05.  Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.79 while also finished second in the 1,000 free in a time of 12:17.50.

WOMEN – Senior Lalah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) took first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:28.13 while also placing second in the 100 free in a time of 1:00.86.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 9, 2008, when they compete in the MASCAC Championships.

DEVILS KNOCKED OFF BY MT. ST. MARY’S

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams were defeated by Mt. St. Mary’s on Wednesday evening at the Rec Center.  The men lost, 104-54, while the women were knocked off, 106-57.

With the losses, the men dropped to 0-12 while the women are 0-13.

MEN – Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) won the 200 free in a time of 1:56.72 while also winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.75.  Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) took first in the 500 free in a time of 5:16.81.

WOMEN – Senior Lalah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) placed first in the 200 free with a time of 2:12.66.  Freshman Melanie Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won first in the 100 back in a time of 1:12.37 while fellow freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) was the winner of the 500 free in a time of 6:01.35.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Scranton in their final regular season meet beginning at 1 pm.

DEVILS FALL TO LEBANON VALLEY

ANNVILLE, PA – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim team lost to Lebanon Valley on Saturday afternoon.  The men were downed, 111-85, while the women fell, 118-71.

With the losses, the men dropped to 0-11 while the women are now 0-12.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) finished first in the 800 free in a time of 9:21.83 while also taking first in the 400 free with a time of 4:31.24.  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) placed first in the 200 breast in a time of 2:40.30.

WOMEN – Senior Lalah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) took first place in the 200 breast with a time of 3:25.19 while also coming in second in the 100 free in a time of 1:07.67.  Freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) won the 200 free in a time of 2:27.79 and came in second in the 400 free with a time of 5:14.70.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at home against Mt. St. Mary beginning at 6 pm.

DEVILS DOWNED BY PURCHASE, 89-66

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils women’s swim team was defeated by Purchase, 89-66, on Wednesday evening in the Rec Center.

With the loss, the Devils dropped to 0-11 on the season.

Senior Lalah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) led the way by taking first place in both the 50 free (28.06) and the 100 free (1:00.60).  Freshman Melanie Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) finished first in the 200 free (2:18.40) and the 100 fly (1:08.91) while freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) placed first in the 1,000 free (12:24.71) and the 500 free (5:56.07).

The Devils return to action on Saturday, January 26, 2008, when both the men and the women travel to Lebanon Valley beginning at 1 pm.

DEVILS KNOCKED OFF BY KING’S AND LYCOMING

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim team were defeated by King’s and Lycoming in a Tri-Match on Wednesday evening.  The men lost to King’s, 77-41, and Lycoming, 94-26, while the women lost to King’s, 65-39, and Lycoming, 97-23.

With the losses, each team dropped to 0-10.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) took first place in the 1,000 free in a time of 10:46.17 and second in the 100 free (52.44) and the 200 IM (2:13.51).  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) came in first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.60 and second in the 100 breast in a time of 1:07.74.

WOMEN – Senior Lelah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 2:45.22 while freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) placed second in the 100 breast in 1:19.77.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at home when the women take on Purchase beginning at 6 pm.

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams were defeated by Widener on Tuesday evening.  The men lost, 125-39, while the women were downed, 127-37.

With the losses, each team is now 0-8.

WOMEN – Senior Lelah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) finished first in the 200 fly in a time of 2:28.19 while freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) placed first in the 500 free with a time of 6:00.66.

MEN – Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) took first place in the 200 fly with a time of 2:17.22 while sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) finished second in both the 100 back (1:05.81) and the 200 free (1:55.00).

The Devils women return to action on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Bryn Mawr beginning at a time to be announced.

DEVILS DOWNED BY ELIZABETHTOWN

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams were knocked off by Elizabethtown on Wednesday evening.  The men lost by a score of 96-62 while the women fell by a margin of 101-56.

With the losses, each team is 0-7.

WOMEN – Sophomore Jessica Dickinson (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) finished first in the 500 free with a time of 6:40.35 while freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) took first place in the 100 breast in a time of 1:22.64.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) took first in the 1000 free (10:55.92) and the 500 free (5:30.71).  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) came in first place in the 100 breast (1:07.89) and the 200 IM (2:15.89).

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham men’s and women’s swimming teams were defeated by Misericordia on Saturday afternoon.  The men lost, 113-62, while the women were downed, 119-45.

With the losses, each team is 0-6.

WOMEN – Freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) led the way for the women, finishing first in the 200 breast (2:48.66) and second in the 1000 free (12:21.44).  Senior Lelah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) took first place in the 500 free with a time of 6:13.25.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) placed first in the 400 IM (4:39.22) and first in the 500 free (5:24.10) while senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) took first in the 200 fly (2:17.05).  Milazzo, Lamb, senior Juan Iwasaki (Lima, Peru/Humboldt) and senior Andy Christiansen (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) finished first in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:15.25.

DEVILS FALL TO ARCADIA

GLENSIDE, PA – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams were knocked off by Arcadia on Saturday afternoon.  The men were downed by a score of 100-64 while the women lost 119-72.

With the losses, each team stands at 0-5 on the season.

WOMEN – The women were led by sophomore Jessica Dickinson (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) and freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon).  Dickinson finished first in the 100 free in a time of 1:04.87 while Savarese placed first in the 500 free with a time of 6:04.12.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) finished first in the 1000 free (10:53.81), the 50 free (23.93) and the 100 free (54.36).  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) took first place in the 100 breast in a time of 1:09.96.

DEVILS DEFEATED BY MONTCLAIR STATE AND RAMAPO

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams lost to Montclair State and Ramapo on Thursday evening.  The men lost to Montclair, 59-29, and to Ramapo, 71-22.  The women were downed by Montclair, 53-29, and Ramapo, 73-22.

With the losses, each team is 0-4 on the year.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) led the way, finishing second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.19 and second in the 500 free in a time of 5:24.59.  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) came in second in the 100 fly with a time of 1:00.72.

WOMEN – Freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) was the top finisher on the women’s side, placing second in the 1000 free with a time of 12:17.00.  Senior Lelah Sencar (Montville, NJ/Montville) came in third in the 100 free in a time of 1:01.75.

RADNOR, PA – The College at Florham men’s and women’s swimming teams were defeated by Cabrini on Saturday afternoon.  The women were downed by a score of 50-32 while the men were knocked off by a 72-23 margin.

With the losses, each team is 0-2 on the season.

WOMEN – Freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) finished third in the 200 free in a time of 2:15.58 and third in the 500 free with a time of 6:06.77.  Sophomore Lauren Iacono (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) came in third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:25.60.

MEN – Sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) finished first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:59.33 and first in the 500 free in a time of 5:17.24.  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) took the 100 breast in a time of 1:07.71 and came in second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.78.

SWIMMING OPENS SEASON AT STEVENS

HOBOKEN, NJ – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams opened the 2007-08 season at Stevens on Saturday afternoon.  The women fell 101-64 while the men lost 104-39.

With the losses, each team is 0-1 on the year.

WOMEN – Sophomore Jessica Dickinson (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) came in first place in the 100 back in a time of 1:18.43, sophomore Lauren Iacono (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) placed first in the 100 breast in a time of 1:27.25 and freshman Katie Savarese (Avon, CT/Avon) finished first in the 500 free with a time of 6:14.93.

MEN – Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) finished first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.96 while sophomore Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) came in first place in the 500 free in a time of 5:33.08.

MEN AND WOMEN FINISH NINTH AT MAC SWIM CHAMPIONSHIPS

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The College at Florham Devils women’s swim team finished ninth out of 11 teams while the men’s team finished ninth out of 10 in the season ending Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships held Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

MEN – The top finish for either team was put in by senior Brian Rawson (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park), who finished 3rd in the 100 breast in a time of 1:00.99 just .22 behind the winner.  Rawson also finished 10th in the 200 IM in 2:06.11 and 14th in the 200 back in 2:12.26.  Freshman Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) placed 8th in the 1650 free in a time of 17:48.88 and 14th in the 500 free in 5:05.08.  Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) came in 7th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.79.  Rawson, Milazzo, Lamb and Jeremy Miragliotta combined to finish 8th in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:32.74.

WOMEN – On the women’s side, freshman Carrie Ridgway (Hancock’s Bridge, NJ/Salem) led the way with an 8th place finish in the 1650 free in a time of 19:17.25.  She also finished 14th in both the 500 free (5:41.65) and the 200 free (2:09.25).  Senior Ashleigh Allen (Phillipsburg, NJ/Perkiomen) finished 10th in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:35.67 while senior Danielle Eige (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) placed 12th in the 400 IM in 5:24.29.  Freshman Lindsay Sanders (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) was 12th in the 200 butterfly (2:38.97) and senior Tina Winthrop (Robbinsville, NJ/Lawrence) was 13th in the 400 IM (5:30.70).

SWIMMERS SWEPT BY LEBANON VALLEY

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swimming team were both defeated by Lebanon Valley on Friday night.  The men were downed, 127-63, while the women lost, 128-69.  With the setback, the men finished the season with a record of 3-4 while the women finished 2-6.

WOMEN – Freshman Carrie Ridgway (Hancock’s Bridge, NJ/Salem) had another outstanding meet as she won two races, the 200 free and the 100 back.  She took the 200 free in a time of 2:09.44 while she won the 100 back in 1:10.94.  Senior Danielle Eige (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) won the 100 free in a time of 1:00.03.

MEN – Senior Brian Rawson (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) won the 100 back in a time of 1:06.15.  Freshmen Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) and Matt Krayton (West Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) won the 100 free and 100 breast, respectively.  Milazzo won in a time of 52.44 while Krayton took his race in 1:14.19.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 10, 2007, when they take part in the MAC Championships at a time to be announced.

MEN, WOMEN BEAT KING’S LOSE TO LYCOMING

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The College at Florham Devils men’s and women’s swim teams knocked off King’s but lost to Lycoming on Wednesday night.  The men beat King’s, 65-57, while the women beat King’s, 81-44.  The men lost to Lycoming, 78-47, while the women were knocked off by Lycoming, 90-40.  With the splits, the men are now 3-3 on the season while the women are 2-5.

WOMEN – Freshman Carrie Ridgway (Hancock’s Bridge, NJ/Salem) was a double-winner for the women, taking the 1000 free in 11:59.96 and the 500 free in 5:48.41.  Senior Ashleigh Allen (Phillipsburg, NJ/Perkiomen) won the 200 fly in 2:40.43 while senior Tina Winthrop (Robbinsville, NJ/Lawrence) took the 200 IM in 2:40.24.

MEN – Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) won the 200 breast in 2:26.10 while freshman Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) took the 1000 free in a time of 10:46.17.

The Devils return to action on Friday, January 19, 2007, at home against Lebanon Valley in the last meet of the regular season beginning at 6:30 pm.

MEN KNOCK OFF CABRINI, 113-57

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils men’s swim team beat Cabrini, 113-57, on Saturday afternoon.  The women however lost to Cabrini 87-36 and to Bryn Mawr 69-52.  The men’s record now stands at 2-2 while the women are 1-4.

MEN – Seniors Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) and Brian Rawson (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and freshman Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) each won two events.  Lamb won the 1000 free in 11:37.00 and the 200 fly in 2:24.47 while Rawson won the 100 breast in 1:05.31 and the 200 breast in 2:38.56.  Milazzo took the 200 free in 1:56.50 and the 200 IM in 2:15.29.  Senior Derek Von Suppiny (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) won the 200 back in 2:30.00.

WOMEN – Senior Ashleigh Allen (Phillipsburg, NJ/Perkiomen) won the 100 and 200 breast against both Carbrini and Bryn Mawr in a time of 1:17.47 and 2:45.35, respectively.  Senior Danielle Eige (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) won the 50 free against Bryn Mawr in a time of 27.37 while freshman Carrie Ridgway (Hancock’s Bridge, NJ/Salem) took the 100 back against Bryn Mawr in 1:10.28.  Ridgway also teamed with junior Lindsey Specht (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) and freshmen Jessica Dickinson (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) and Lindsay Sanders (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) to win the 200 free relay against Bryn Mawr with a time of 1:55.66.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 17, at King’s with Lycoming beginning at 6 pm.

DEVILS SWEPT BY SCRANTON

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils were swept by Scranton on Tuesday evening.  The men lost 98-53 while the women fell 106-83.  Both squads records now stand at 1-2 (0-2 MAC).

MEN – Freshman Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) was the lone winner for the men, taking the 1650 free in 18:50.88.  Senior Brian Rawson (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) earned two second place finishes, one in the 100 breast and one in the 500 free.

WOMEN – Seniors Ashleigh Allen (Phillipsburg, NJ/Perkiomen) and Danielle Eige (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) each recorded two third place finishes.  Allen finished third in the 200 free and 100 fly while Eige had a third in the 100 breast and 500 free.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, December 2, when they host a men’s and women’s tri-meet against Bryn Mawr and Cabrini at 1 pm.

DEVILS SWEEP ARCADIA

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils swept Arcadia in both the men’s and women’s meet on Saturday afternoon.  The women won 119-77 while the men won 96-59.  With the win’s, each team’s record now stands at 1-1.

WOMEN – Freshman Carrie Ridgway (Hancock’s Bridge, NJ/Salem) led the way for the women, winning in both the 500 and 1,000 free.  Her time in the 500 free was 6:01.00 and 12:30.75 in the 1,000 free.  Senior Danielle Eige (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) won the 100 breast in a time of 1:17.94 and teamed with seniors Tina Winthrop (Robbinsville, NJ/Lawrence) and Ashleigh Allen (Phillipsburg, NJ/Perkiomen) and freshman Lindsay Sanders (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:09.22.  Allen also won the 200 individual medley in 2:36.53.  Junior Lindsey Specht (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) won the 50 free in 28.85.

MEN – Senior Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) and freshman Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon) were the big winners for the men’s team.  Lamb won the 100 breast in 1:07.87, the 100 fly in 1:00.31 and combined with Milazzo and seniors Brian Rawson (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Derek Von Suppiny (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) to win the 200 medley in 1:52.56.  Milazzo also won the 500 free in 5:40.00 and the 200 individual medley in 2:14.06.  Rawson won the 50 free in 24.65 while senior Felipe Hoyos (Totowa, NJ/Passaic Valley) took the 100 free in 1:02.19.

The Devils return to action on Tuesday, November 28, at home against Scranton beginning at 7 pm.

SWIMMING SWEPT BY DREW

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils were defeated by Drew University in both men’s and women’s swimming on Tuesday evening.  The men lost 94-71 while the women were downed 113-86.  Both teams are now 0-1 on the season.

MEN – Senior Brian Rawson (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) led the way, finishing in first place in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.60.  Rawson was also part of the 200 medley relay team that finished first with a time of 1:54.19.  Joining Rawson on the relay team were seniors Derek Von Suppiny (Stanhope, NJ/Lenape Valley) and Tim Lamb (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) and freshman Peter Milazzo (Lewisburg, PA/Audubon).

WOMEN – Seniors Ashleigh Allen (Phillipsburg, NJ/Perkiomen) and Danielle Eige (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) and freshman Lindsay Sanders (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) were all double winners for the Devils.  Allen won the 100 breast in 1:16.62, Eige won the 100 free in 1:00.72 and Sanders won the 100 fly in 1:10.25.  The three also team with senior Tina Winthrop (Robbinsville, NJ/Lawrence) to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:08.00.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, November 11, at home against Arcadia beginning at 1 pm.

ALBRIGHT WOMEN, WIDENER MEN CAPTURE TEAM TITLES AT 2006 MAC SWIM CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAY EVENING; WIDENER’S KEVIN CARSON & ALBRIGHT’S RACHEL CANTWELL EARN PRESTIGIOUS DAVID B. EAVENSON AWARD FOR MOST OUTSTANDING MALE & FEMALE SWIMMER

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—The Albright College women and the Widener University men captured the team titles at the 2006 Middle Atlantic Conference swimming championships that concluded Sunday evening at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center.

The Lion women and the Pioneer men led from start to finish in the three-day event, which began Friday afternoon.  On Sunday, Albright won four individual events and the 400 freestyle relay to finish with 723 points.  The University of Scranton was second with 638, followed by Juniata (446), Lycoming (429), Widener (375), Elizabethtown (257), Susquehanna (183), Lebanon Valley (135), Drew (99) and FDU-Florham (70).

Widener, which won three individual events and the 400 freestyle relay Sunday, finished with 817 points to easily out-distance runner-up Albright (674).  Scranton was third with 425 points, followed by Lycoming (403), Susquehanna (317), Elizabethtown (204), Lebanon Valley (198), King’s (125), FDU-Florham (54) and Drew (26).

Sophomore Rachel Cantwell (Wyomissing, Pa./Wilson) won the 200 breaststroke for the second straight year in a time  of 2:27.95.  Cantwell, who also won conference titles in the 100 breaststroke on Saturday and the 200 individual medley Friday, was named the female recipient of the David B. Eavenson award, which is presented annually to the outstanding swimmer.  She also swam the third leg on the Lions’ 400 freestyle relay, which finished first in 3:40.60 in the evening’s final event for women.  Joining her as a conference champion this evening were teammates Erin Jagielski (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin), sophomore Cheyenne Gehman (Boyerstown, Pa./Boyertown) and freshman Adrienne Peoples (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine). Jagielski set an MAC record in the 100 free in :53.35, breaking the former mark of :53.56 by Kathy Trainor of Juniata College in 2004, and Gehman won the 200 butterfly for the second consecutive year in a time of 2:12.37.   Peoples opened the evening session by capturing the 1650 freestyle in 18:15.21.

Scranton’s Jill Palmiotto (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) won the 200 backstroke for the third straight year in a time of 2:12.57.  Palmiotto’s teammate, freshman Erin O’Connor (Scotch Plains, N.J./Union Catholic Regional), was named the rookie of the year after winning the 500 free on Friday and the 400 individual medley on Saturday.  On Sunday, she place third in the 200 butterfly (2:13.77) and swam the second leg on the Royals’ 400 freestyle relay team that placed second behind Albright in a time of 3:43.69.

Widener’s Kevin Carson (Saint Peters, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) repeated as champion in the 200 butterfly for the second straight year by posting a first-place time of 1:55.74.  Carson, who won the 200 individual medley Friday and the 100 butterfly Saturday, was the male recipient of the Eavenson award as the most outstanding swimmer.  Pioneer senior Matt Snyder (Ashley, Pa./Hanover Area) won the 200 breaststroke for the fourth straight year in 2:13.27, while freshman teammate Chris Miller (Jonestown, Pa./Cedar Crest) opened the evening session for the men with a first-place finish in the 1650 freestyle in 16:47.85.  Miller, who won the 500 free Friday, was named the men’s rookie of the year.

Albright’s Eric Daney (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock) joined Matt Snyder of Widener as a four-time champion in the same event.  Daney won the 200 backstroke in 1:54.34.  Susquehanna’s Jeff Fornadley (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) captured the 100 free in :48.09.

The Albright College women have now won two straight and six of the last seven MAC titles.  Widener ended Albright’s three-year reign as conference champions in the men’s division by winning their first championship since 2002 and eighth overall.

FDU-FLORHAM WOMEN BEATS KING’S, 65-26:

MEN BEATEN BY KING’S 112-29

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham women’s swimming team was beaten by the King’s Monarchs 65-26. The men’s team was beaten 112-29 by the Monarchs.

For the women, Jacalyn Urban won the 200 Free with a time of 2:27.09. Tina Winthrop finished first in the 100 Back with a time of 1:19.34.

For the men, Dan Taylor turned in a second place finish with a time of 25.13 in the 50 Free. Felipe Hoyos came in second in the 100 Free with a mark of 58.56. Derrick Von Suppiny finished second in the 200 Back with a 2:34.62. Von Suppiny finished second in the 100 Breast as well, with a time of 1:22.56.

The Devils will compete at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships next weekend.

FDU-FLORHAM WOMEN’S BEATS ST. ELIZABETH’S 101-83

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham women’s swimming team beat the visiting St. Elizabeth Eagles 101-83.

The Devils started the meet off by winning the 200 yard medley in a time of 2:19.0 to take an 11-4 lead. The relay consisted of Brittany Hect, Jess DiMaggio, Lalah Sencar, and Lindsey Specht.

From that point on, the Devils never relinquished the lead.

Tina Winthrop took first place in the 1000 free to extend the Devils’ lead to 20-8.

The Devils took first place in nine of the night’s 11 events. They did not enter a relay team in the final event, the 200 Free relay.

In the 50 Free, Specht finished first with a time of 28.06. Winthrop earned first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:46.91.

In the 100 Fly, Sencar took first with a 1:12.32. Specht took another first place, finishing the 100 Free in 1:04.3.

Hect won the 100 back with a time of 1:11.94. Sencar took another first place finish with a time of 6:22.28 in the 500 Free.

Hect finished first again, this time in the 100 Breast, with a time of 1:23.72.

The Devils will next swim on Wednesday, December 18, when they travel to Scranton for a 7:00 pm meet.

FDU-FLORHAM MEN’S SWIMMING BEATEN 96-47, WOMEN BEATEN 121-60

MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham Devils swimming teams were beaten by Misericordia. The men were beaten 96-47 and the women were beaten 121-60.

In the men’s events, Derrick VonSuppiny (Byram, NJ) finished third in the 200 free with a time of 2:29.34. Jeremy Migliotta (Vineland, NJ) finished second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:19.22 while VonSuppiny finished third with a time of 1:21.72.

VonSuppiny finished second in the 100 back with a time of 1:12.35 while Miragliotta took third with a time of 1:16.34

Dan Taylor (Moorestown, NJ) finished third in the 50 free with a time of 26:54. Phil Hoyos (Totowa, NJ) took third place in the 100 free with a time of 59:94.

In the women’s events, Lalah Sencar (Montville, NJ) finished second in the 200 free with a time of 2:11.53. Lindsey Specht (Jackson, NJ) finished second with a time of 1:03.18 in the 100 free.

Brittant Hect (Wallingford, CT) finished second in the 100 back with a time of 1:10.32. Jaclyn Urban (Ambler, PA) finished third in the 500 free with a time of 6:47.32

The Devils will next swim at Rowan on Saturday.
