May 9, 2008 NOVER, HEYL NAMED TO NFCA ALL-REGION TEAM MADISON, NJ – Senior catcher Kelly
Nover (Lindenhurst,
NY/Lindenhurst) was named Second Team NFCA All-East Region while sophomore
third baseman Christine Heyl
(Avon, NJ/St. Rose) was named to the Third Team on Friday morning. Nover was named First Team All-Freedom
Conference after posting a .351 batting average with 38 runs scored, 11
doubles, four home runs, 29 RBI and 11 stolen bases. Heyl was also named First Team
All-Freedom after she notched a .380 batting average with 25 runs scored,
nine doubles, two home runs and 25 RBI. May 7, 2008 DEVILS RIP OLD WESTBURY, 13-1 (5), IN ECAC FIRST
ROUND MADISON, NJ – Senior pitcher Katelyn
Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral)
and sophomore third baseman Christine Heyl (Avon, NJ/St. Rose) each had a triple, a run scored
and three RBI to lead the College at Florham Devils to a 13-1 (5) win over
Old Westbury in the First Round of the ECAC Metro Region Tournament on
Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Devils improved to
27-16 on the season and will advance to play Farmingdale in on Saturday
afternoon. After a scoreless first inning, the
Devils exploded for 10 runs in the second inning and three more in the third
to put the game out of reach.
Senior catcher Kelly Nover
(Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI
while senior outfielder Leah Minnick (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South) also went 2-for-2 with a
double, a run scored and two RBI.
Smith got the win, allowing one run (unearned) on one hit in three
innings. The Devils return to action on
Saturday, May 10, 2008, against Farmingdale at Richard Stockton College

Monday morning. Senior
outfielder Leah Minnick
(Middletown, NJ/Middletown South) and senior designated player Julie
Hartnett (Riverton,
NJ/Palmyra) were named to the Second Team. Smith
led the team on the mound with a 13-9 record and a 1.69 ERA while striking
out 138 batters. In the
conference, she is second in ERA, third in opposing batting average, first in
innings pitched, first in strikeouts and second in wins. Nationally, she is 35th in
ERA, 51st in strikeouts per seven innings, 75th in
walks allowed per seven innings, 83rd in hits allowed per seven
innings and 84th in wins. Nover
finished the year with a .341 batting average, 11 doubles and 27 RBI. She led the team with 45 hits, 36
runs scored and 11 stolen bases while tying for the team lead in triples with
three and home runs with four.
In the conference, she is second in runs scored, tied for first in
triples and third in at-bats. Heyl
led the team with a .381 batting average while also collecting 24 runs
scored, nine doubles, two home runs and 22 RBI. Minnick
finished the year with a .366 batting average, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and
20 RBI. She was also tied for
the team lead in home runs with four. Hartnett
hit .331 in 2008 with 18 runs scored and 28 RBI. She tied for the team lead in doubles with 12 and home
runs with four. In the
conference, she is fourth in doubles. May 3, 2008 DEVILS ELIMINATED FROM FREEDOM TOURNAMENT BY
KING’S, 10-2 (6) WILKES-BARRE, PA – King’s College used
a five-run fourth inning and a three-run sixth inning to eliminate the
College at Florham Devils from the Freedom Conference Tournament, 10-2 (6),
on Saturday morning. With the loss, the Devils dropped to
26-16 and will await a bid to the ECAC Tournament. King’s got on the board first with a
run in the bottom of the first inning.
The Monarchs made it 2-0 in the third inning before exploding for five
runs in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead.
The Devils would cut it to 7-1 in the fifth when senior second baseman
Tara Hulse (Brick,
NJ/Monsignor Donovan) scored on a wild pitch. FDU then made it 7-2 in the top half of the sixth when
senior pitcher Katelyn Smith
(Temecula, CA/Chaparral) belted a solo home run to left field. King’s then game back with three runs
in the bottom of the sixth to end the game and move on with a 10-2 victory. Smith took the loss for FDU on the
mound, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits while striking out five
in 3.1 innings pitched. May 2, 2008 DEVILS DROP HEARTBREAKER TO DESALES, 3-2 WILKES-BARRE, PA – The College at
Florham Devils held a 2-1 lead entering the bottom of the sixth inning but
DeSales got a two-run home run to grab a 3-2 lead on their way to an opening game
win in the Freedom Conference Tournament on Friday morning. With the loss, the Devils dropped to
26-15 and will play the loser of the King’s/Delaware Valley game in an
elimination game tomorrow morning. The Devils got on the board first with
two runs in the second inning thanks to a RBI double by senior pitcher Katelyn
Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral)
and a Bulldog error. DeSales cut
it to 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth on a RBI single and then took a 3-2 lead
in the sixth on a two-run home run that hit off the left field foul
pole. The Devils went in order
in the seventh allowing DeSales to escape with the win. Smith was the hard-luck loser on the
mound, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings. At the plate, she was 2-for-3 with a

elimination game beginning at 9 am. April 27, 2008 DEVILS SWEEP ALBRIGHT, 8-3 AND 10-0 (5) MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils swept a non-conference doubleheader from Albright on Sunday afternoon,
winning the opener by a score of 8-3 before winning the nightcap by a 10-0
(5) margin. With the sweep, the Devils improved to
26-14. Game One – Senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) went 3-for-4
with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI while senior

at Wilkes beginning at 11 am. April 26, 2008 DEVILS BEAT STATEN ISLAND, 2-0 STATEN ISLAND, NY – Senior pitcher Katelyn
Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral)
tossed a complete game five-hitter while striking out five to lead the
College at Florham Devils to a 2-0 win over Staten Island in non-conference
action on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Devils improved to
24-14. The game was scoreless until the top
of the fifth inning when senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) roped a two-run
single that proved to be the difference. FDU only had three hits on the day but it was enough to
earn the win. The Devils return to action on Sunday,
April 27, 2008, with a doubleheader at home against Albright beginning at 1
pm. April 24, 2008 DEVILS SWEPT BY KEAN, 2-1 (8) AND 7-0 MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils dropped both games of a doubleheader to Kean, 2-1 (8), and 7-0, in
non-conference action on Thursday afternoon. With the sweep, the Devils dropped to
23-14. Game One – The Devils got on the board first with a run
in the bottom of the third inning on a RBI single by sophomore outfielder Amy
Beideman (River Vale,
NJ/Pascack Valley). Kean tied it
a 1-1 in the top of the fifth and the game remained tied until the
International Tiebreaker took effect in the eighth inning. Each team had a runner placed on
second base and the Cougards were able to take advantage to earn the 2-1 win. Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) was the hard-luck
loser, allowing one run (unearned) on three hits in eight innings. Beideman and senior designated player
Julie Hartnett (Riverton,
NJ/Palmyra) each had two hits. Game Two – Kean got on the board right away in the
second game with one run in the top of the first inning. They made it 2-0 in the third, 3-0 in
the fourth and 5-0 in the fifth before tacking on two more insurance runs in
the sixth. The story of the game
though, was the nine errors that the Devils made in the field. Hartnett suffered the loss, allowing
five runs (one earned) on seven hits in six innings. Beideman had two more hits for FDU. The Devils return to action on

noon. April 21, 2008 SMITH NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK ANNVILLE, PA – Senior pitcher Katelyn
Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral)
was named Freedom Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon after
picking up two wins and a save last week. Smith started the week on Wednesday
when she picked up a no decision at New Jersey City by allowing 10 runs (two
earned) on 12 hits while striking out seven in 4.2 innings pitched. On Saturday, she tossed a complete
game five-hitter with five strikeouts in a 4-0 win at Arcadia in Game
One. Then in Game Two, she came
on to pick up the final six outs by allowing only two hits for her first save
of the season in a 9-6 win. She
finished the week on Sunday at Hunter by tossing another complete game
five-hitter but this time she struck out eight in a 2-0 win. On the season, Smith is 11-6 with a
1.53 ERA and 122 strikeouts. In
the conference, she is third in ERA (1.53), second in opposing batting
average (.234), second in innings pitched (105.0), first in strikeouts (122)
and second in wins (11).
Nationally, she is 24th in strikeouts per seven innings, 47th
in ERA and 86th in wins. April 20, 2008 DEVILS DOWN HUNTER, 2-0 STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College at
Florham Devils knocked off Hunter, 2-0, in non-conference action on Sunday
afternoon. With the win, the Devils improved to
23-12. Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) led the way by
tossing a complete game and allowing no runs on five hits while striking out

at 3 pm. April 19, 2008 DEVILS SWEEP ARCADIA, 4-0 AND 9-6 GLENSIDE, PA – The College at Florham
swept a doubleheader from Arcadia on Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference
action. The Devils won the first
game by a score of 4-0 before winning the nightcap by a 9-6 margin. With the sweep, the Devils improved to
22-12 (6-6 Freedom) while the Knights dropped to 12-17-1 (2-6 Freedom). Game One – Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) tossed a complete
game, allowing no runs on five hits while striking out five to pick up the
win. The Devils scored all four
runs in the top of the fourth inning with senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) driving in two

Florham Devils split a non-conference doubleheader with New Jersey City on
Wednesday afternoon, winning the first game by a score of 16-16 (8) while
losing the nightcap by a 9-7 margin. With the split, the Devils are now
20-12. Game One – Sophomore third baseman Christine Heyl (Avon, NJ/St. Rose) went 4-for-5 with a
double, a home run, two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Devils to the
win. FDU got on the board first
with a run in the top of the first inning on a RBI double by Heyl. The Devils then put up five runs in
the second inning on a RBI single by sophomore designated player Meghan
Zaccardi (Pompton Plains,
NJ/Pequannock), a RBI single by senior shortstop Kristin Loriot (Howell, NJ/Howell), a RBI single by Heyl, a
RBI single by sophomore outfielder Amy Beideman (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) and a RBI
single by senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral).
Jersey City got three runs back in the bottom of the second to make
the score 6-3 before the Devils put up five more in the third on a RBI double
by junior first baseman Christina Fabian (Norwarlk, CT/Norwalk), a RBI double by senior by senior catcher Kelly
Nover (Lindenhurst,
NY/Lindenhurst), a Gothic Knight error and a two-run home run by Heyl. With the score 11-3 heading into the
bottom of the fifth inning, Jersey City put up seven runs to cut it to 11-10
but the Devils responded in the sixth with three runs on a sac fly by
Zaccardi and a two-run double by Loriot. The Gothic Knights didn’t quit though, scoring four runs
in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game, 14-14. With the International Tiebreaker in effect in the eighth
inning, Beideman roped a two-run double to put FDU up by a score of
16-14. NJCU got one run back in
the bottom of the eighth but the Devils held, earning the win. Freshman pitcher Shaina Bradley (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) picked up
the win in relief, tossing 3.1 innings while allowing five runs (four earned)
on six hits. Senior second
baseman Tara Hulse (Brick,
NJ/Monsignor Donovan) went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. Game Two – The Gothic Knights got on the board first
with two runs in the first inning but the Devils put up a five spot in the
second inning on a two-run double by senior outfielder Leah Minnick (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South), a sac fly
by Nover and a two-run single by Loriot to make the score 5-2. NJCU got a run back in their half of
the second and then scored six runs in the fourth to make it 9-5. The Devils cut it to 9-7 in the sixth
on a RBI single by Fabian with another run also scoring due to an NJCU
error. That was all for FDU
though, as the Gothic Knights hung on for the split. Miinnick finished 2-for-2 with two
doubles, a run scored and two RBI. The Devils return to action on
Saturday, April 19, 2008, with a doubleheader at Arcadia beginning at 1 pm. April 13, 2008 DEVILS SPLIT WITH DELAWARE VALLEY MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils split a doubleheader with Delaware Valley in Freedom Conference action
on Saturday afternoon. The
Devils won the first game, 9-1 (5), before dropping the second game, 6-4. With the split, the Devils are now
19-11 (4-6 Freedom) while the Aggies are 7-13 (3-3 Freedom). Game One – Senior outfielder Leah Minnick (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South) finished
1-for-1 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI while sophomore
shortstop Marysa Cole
(Washington Twp., NJ/Westwood) went 2-for-2 with two doubles, a run scored
and two RBI in the 9-1 win. The
Aggies actually got on the board first, putting up a run in the top of the
first inning before the Devils tied it at 1-1 in the bottom of the first on a
solo home run by sophomore third baseman Christine Heyl (Avon, NJ/St. Rose). The Devils then put up two runs in the second on a two-run
double by Cole, three runs in the third on a three-run jack by Minnick, and
three more in the fourth on a RBI single by senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst), a Del Val error
and a wild pitch. Senior pitcher

escaped with the win. Beideman

at 3 pm. April 12, 2008 DEVILS SWEPT BY KING’S, 4-3 AND 6-1 MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils lost both games of a doubleheader, 4-3 and 6-1, to King’s on Saturday
afternoon in Freedom Conference action. With the sweep, the Devils dropped to
18-10 (3-5 Freedom) while the Monarchs improved to 13-5 (4-2 Freedom). Game One – King’s jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the
top of the second inning but the Devils made it 4-3 in the bottom of the
sixth on a RBI double by senior designated player Julie Hartnett (Riverton, NJ/Palmyra) and a sac fly by
sophomore outfielder Amy Beideman
(River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley).
FDU could not push across any runs in the seventh inning allowing

at Noon. April 10, 2008 DEVILS SPLIT WITH RICHARD STOCKTON MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils split a non-conference doubleheader with Richard Stockton, winning
Game One by a score of 4-1 before losing the nightcap by a margin of 10-4
when the game was called in the sixth inning due to darkness. With the split, the Devils are now
18-8. Game One – Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) allowed one run on
seven hits while striking out six in seven innings to pick up the win for the
Devils. Stockton got on the
board first in the game, going ahead 1-0 in the first inning. The Devils put up two runs in the
fourth on a solo home run by Smith and an error to take a 2-1 lead, then FDU
put up two more in the sixth on a RBI double by senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) and a RBI single
by senior second baseman Kristin Loriot (Howell, NJ/Howell) to make the final score 4-1. Game Two – Stockton once again got on the board first,
this time putting up four runs in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead. FDU cut it to 4-2 after the fourth on
two-run single by senior third baseman Tara Hulse (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan). The Ospreys got those runs back in
the fifth to grab a 6-2 lead but FDU cut it to 6-4 in their half of the fifth
on a RBI single by sophomore first baseman Christine Heyl (Avon, NJ/St. Rose) and a RBI single by
sophomore outfielder Amy Beideman
(River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley).
Stockton answered again in the top of the sixth though, scoring four
more runs to put the game away.
Loriot took the loss for the Devils, giving up four runs (none earned)

Saturday, April 12, 2008, with a doubleheader at home against King’s
beginning at 1 pm. April 6, 2008 DEVILS SWEEP RUTGERS-NEWARK, 8-2 AND 10-0 NEWARK, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils knocked off Rutgers-Newark, 8-2 and 10-0, in non-conference action on
Sunday afternoon. With the sweep, the Devils improved to
17-7. Game One – Senior outfielder Leah Minnick (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South) went 2-for-3
with a home run, a double, a run scored and two RBI to lead the Devils to the
8-2 win. Newark got on the board
first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning but the Devils tied it
at 2-2 in the fourth on a RBI double by Minnick and a RBI single by senior
third baseman Tara Hulse
(Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan).
FDU took a 3-2 advantage in the fifth on a RBI groundout by sophomore

tossing six innings while allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out
six. Game Two – Hulse finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and

runs and a RBI to pace FDU. The
Devil started strong, scoring five runs in the first all with two outs on a

Florham Devils split a Freedom Conference doubleheader with Wilkes on
Saturday afternoon, losing Game One by a score of 4-1 before winning the
nightcap by a 10-8 margin. With the split, the Devils are now
15-7 (3-3 Freedom) while the Colonels are also 15-7 (3-3 Freedom). Game One – Senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) went 3-for-4
with a solo home run but it wasn’t enough as the Devils fell, 4-1. Wilkes got on the board first with a
run in the second inning and then they took a 3-0 lead after the third
inning. FDU cut it to 3-1 in the
top of the fifth inning on Nover’s homer but the Colonels got that run right

2-0 lead after the first inning but the Devils came back to put up four runs
in the second on a RBI double by Hartnett, a two-run Wilkes error and a RBI
single by senior second baseman Kristin Loriot (Howell, NJ/Howell). The Devils made it 5-2 in the third on a RBI single by
senior third baseman Tara Hulse
(Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) but the Colonels got that run right back in
their half of the third. Wilkes
then scored one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth to take a 6-5
lead but the Devils put up four more runs in the sixth inning on solo home
run by Nover and a three-run jack by Hartnett to take a 9-6 lead. Nover ripped an RBI single in the top
of the seventh to give the Devils an insurance run and a 10-6 advantage. The Colonels plated two runs in the
bottom of the seventh and had the tying runs on base but the Devils held and
picked up the win. Hartnett
started the game on the mound and allowed six runs on eight hits in four
innings before Loriot relieved her and tossed the final three innings
allowing two runs on three hits to earn the win. The Devils return to action on Sunday,
April 7, 2008, with a doubleheader at Rutgers-Newark beginning at 1 pm. April 2, 2008 DEVILS SWEEP CENTENARY, 6-5 AND 7-4 HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – The College at
Florham Devils swept a doubleheader from Centenary, 6-5 and 7-4, in
non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. With the wins, the Devils improved to
14-6. Game One – Senior pitcher Kristin Loriot (Howell, NJ/Howell) went 2-for-2 with a run
scored and two RBI at the plate while tossing five innings and allowing two
runs (one earned) one five hits on the mound in the 6-5 victory. FDU got on the board first in the top
of the second on a RBI single by Loriot. The Devils made it 2-0 in the fourth on another RBI single
by Loriot. Centenary cut it to
2-1 in the fourth and tied it at 2-2 in fifth before taking a 4-2 lead in the
sixth. The Devils put up a four
spot in the seventh on three straight bases loaded walks and a Cyclone error
to take a 6-4 lead. Centenary
cut it to 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh but could not tie the game as the
Devils escaped with the win.
Junior pitcher Jen Karl
(Springfield, NJ/Dayton) got the win in relief, allowing three runs (one
earned) on three hits in two innings. Game Two – Senior designated player Julie Hartnett (Riverton, NJ/Palmyra) went 3-for-4 with two
doubles and four RBI to lead the Devils to a 7-4 win. Centenary started the scoring by
putting up a run in the bottom of the first inning. FDU took a 2-1 lead in the third on a RBI double by
Hartnett and a RBI single by senior first baseman Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral). The Devils made it 5-1 in the fourth
on a three-run double by Hartnett but Centenary cut it to 5-3 in the bottom
of the fifth inning. FDU went up
6-3 in the sixth on a RBI single by sophomore outfielder Amy Beideman (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) but Centenary
got the run back in their half of the sixth to make it 6-4. The Devils added an insurance run in the
seventh on sac fly by senior catcher Kelly Nover (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) and the Cyclones
went quietly in the bottom of the seventh allowing the Devils to get the

NJ/Cherry Hill West) picked up the win, allowing three runs (one earned) on
10 hits in five innings. The Devils return to action on
Saturday, April 5, 2008, with a doubleheader at Wilkes beginning at 1 pm. March 30, 2008 DEVILS DROP TWO TO DESALES, 7-6 AND 12-0 (5) CENTER VALLEY, PA – The College at
Florham Devils saw their 11 game winning streak come to end on Sunday
afternoon as they dropped both games of a doubleheader, 7-6 and 12-0 (5), to
DeSales in Freedom Conference action. With the sweep, the Devils dropped to
12-6 (2-2 Freedom) while the Bulldogs improved to 11-5 (3-1 Freedom). Game One – FDU was facing a 7-1 deficit after four
innings of play but scored five runs over the final three innings to close
the gap to 7-6. The Devils
pushed across two runs in the seventh but could not score the tying run as
the Bulldogs escaped with the win.
Senior catcher Kelly Nover
(Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) went 3-for04 with a double, a run scored and
two RBI while sophomore outfielder Amy Beideman (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) finished 2-for-4
with a double, a run scored and two RBI. Senior outfielder Amanda Cusumano (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) was 2-for-3 with
two doubles and two runs scored.
Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) took the loss, allowing five runs (one
earned) on five hits in two innings. Game Two – DeSales took control right away, putting up
a five spot in the second inning on their way to the victory. The Devils were actually no-hit in
this game but they did draw three walks and reached base on two DeSales

Wednesday, April 2, 2008, with a doubleheader at Centenary beginning at 3:30
pm. March 29, 2008 DEVILS SWEEP MANHATTANVILLE, 4-1 AND 8-6 MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils knocked off Manhattanville, 4-1 and 8-6, in Freedom Conference action
on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Devils improved to
12-4 (2-0 Freedom) while the Valiants dropped to 2-14 (0-2 Freedom). Game One – Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) tossed a complete
game allowing one run on five hits while striking out eight to lead the
Devils to the victory. FDU got
on the board first in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run by
senior catcher Kelly Nover
(Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst).
Manhattanville tied it up at 1-1 in the top of the second before FDU
put three on the board in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. Sophomore outfielder Amy Beideman (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) started the
inning with a solo home run, FDU scored the second run on a Valiant error and
Nover finished things off with a sac fly. Smith shut down Manhattanville the rest of the way for the
win. Game Two – Beideman went 1-for-3 with a double and
three RBI to pace the Devils in the 8-6 win. The Devils again scored first in the bottom of the first
inning on a RBI single by sophomore third baseman Christine Heyl (Avon, NJ/St. Rose). The Valiants responded with three in the second but an
error by Manhattanville allowed the Devils to cut it to 3-2 after two innings
of play. The Devils put up four
more in the third on Beideman’s three run double where she also scored on the
play due to a Valiant error. FDU
made it 8-3 in the fourth on a RBI double by Nover and a RBI single by senior
pitcher Julie Hartnett

Manhattanville scored two in the fifth and one in the seventh but it
was not enough as FDU got the victory.
Heyle finished 3-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI while Nover was
2-for-3 with three runs scored and a RBI. Hartnett picked up the win, going 4.2 innings and allowing
five runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out six. Senior pitcher Kristin Loriot (Howell, NJ/Howell) got the save, tossing 2.1
innings and allowing one unearned run on three hits. The Devils return to action on Sunday,
March 30, 2008, with a doubleheader at DeSales beginning at Noon. March 27, 2008 DEVILS EXPLODE PAST PURCHASE PURCHASE, NY – The College at Florham
Devils swept a doubleheader from Purchase, 15-0 (5) in Game One and 23-3 (5)
in Game Two, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon. With the sweep, the Devils improved to
10-4. Game One – Senior pitcher Katelyn Smith (Temecula, CA/Chaparral) picked up the win by
tossing four innings and allowing only one hit while striking out eight. She also had two hits and a RBI at

swept St. Elizabeth on Tuesday afternoon, winning Game One by a score of 11-0
(5) while winning the nightcap by a 13-5 (5) margin. With the sweep, the Devils improved to

Devils were picked to finish third in the preseason Freedom Conference
Coaches Poll on Monday morning.

She ranked first in the conference in stolen bases, second in the
conference in runs scored, second in home runs, third in total bases and

finished the season leading the team in batting average (.393), doubles (11)
and home runs (9) while also driving in 31 runs. In the conference she ranks fifth in batting average,
first in slugging percentage, fourth in on-base percentage, fifth in RBI’s,
tied for first in doubles, first in home runs and second in total bases. Smith
was 12-6 with a 2.08 ERA and 151 strikeouts in 118 innings pitched this
year. She ranked fifth in the
conference in ERA, second in opposing batting average, third in innings
pitched, second in strikeouts and third in wins. Beideman led the team in RBI’s (39)
while also hitting .379 with five home runs and 28 runs scored. She is fifth in the conference in
runs scored and tied for first in RBI’s. April 30, 2007 DEVILS SWEPT BY NEW MADISON, NJ – The College at Florham
Devils were swept by With the loss, FDU dropped to 20-17 on
the season. Game One – Game Two – The Gothic Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead
but FDU got a two-run home run by Beideman in the bottom of the fourth to cut
the deficit to 3-2.
Unfortunately that was as close as they would get as New Jersey Ciy
shut the door the rest of the way.
