The FDU-Florham field hockey program continues to evolve under four-time Freedom Conference Coach of the Year Jenn Noon.

Noon, who recently completed her seventh season, guided the field hockey team to only its second-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2014. The two previous seasons saw the Devils claim MAC Freedom Regular Season titles, and qualified for the ECAC Tournament both years.


In 2014, Noon's squad accomplished a decorated run, which concluded in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Devils earned the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance -- first since 1986 -- by claiming the Freedom Conference Championship and then went on to upset 17th-ranked Utica College in the tournament's opening round.

Noon's relentless energy and extensive knowledge of the game, accompanied by her USA Level I and II Field Hockey Coaching Accreditation have contributed to her success as head coach. She was named 2014 Freedom Conference Coach of the Year following her team’s sensational run. Her first coach of the year nod came following the 2011 season, in which the Devils captured the Freedom Conference Regular Season Championship.The Devils were knocked off in the Freedom Tournament Finals but qualified for the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament. 

In addition to coaching, Noon is also an Associate Athletic Director at FDU-Florham and heavily involved with the NCAA and National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), where she serves on the Regional Ranking Committee for women's golf and field hockey, Coach of the Year Committee, and the All-American Selection Committee. She also heads the Devils women's golf program, which she has coached since its inaugural season in 2011. 

At the 2015 NCAA Convention, she received the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) Transitioning Athletic Administrator Award.

She currently coaches with the United States Futures Program and is the owner of Competitor's Edge Field Hockey Camp and Noon Sports Academy.

A standout field hockey player at Rutgers University, Noon was named First Team All-Big East in 2003. She was also a three-time All-Academic player. She was named Big East Offensive Player of the Week for the week of of September 8, 2003 as well as the "Daily Targum" Athlete of the Week for that same week. In 2002, she earned the field hockey team's "Mission Statement Award" and was named to the National Academic Team.


5101Stephanie Zygmunt
Assistant Field Hockey Coach/Goalkeepers

Stephanie Zygmunt enters her first season as an assistant field hockey coach and head goalkeeping coach for the Devils, working primarily with goalkeepers and the defense.

Zygmunt comes to the FDU-Florham field hockey program having completed a stellar career at Division I University of Vermont. Starting every game for the Catamounts during her sophomore, junior and senior campaigns, she led the America East Conference in total saves, saves per game, and save percentage each of those three seasons. As a junior and senior, she led the nation in total saves (188 and 223) and saves per game (10.44 and 11.74).

Additionally, she finished in the top 10 nationally in save percentage twice and ranks third all-time in career saves at University of Vermont's with 584. Zygmunt was a two-time team MVP and elected team captain in her senior season. She was also named America East Conference Defensive Player of the Week and ECAC Player of the Week on October 29, 2012.

Off the field, Zygmunt found success in the classroom and coaching. She was a five-year member of the University of Vermont's Dean's List, a three-time member of the America East Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll and a two-time member of the Division I National Academic Squad. She's coached the varsity field hockey team at Rice Memorial High School in Vermont, several clinics and camps and the National Futures Program for four years.

Zygmunt graduated from Wayne Hills High School in Wayne, N.J. where she was an All-League, All-County, All-North Jersey and All-State selection, while leading her team to the sectional state championship her junior and senior year.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in Physical Education from the University of Vermont in 2014 and her Master of Education in Special Education from the University in 2015.

Assistant Field Hockey Coach

Sophie Wright enters her second season as an assistant coach of the FDU field hockey program. 

An England resident but born in New Zealand, Wright graduated from Rutgers in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, and is current pursuing a Masters degree in Business Administration from FDU. Previously, she has coached at Monkton Prep in Bath, England, coaching boys and girls ages 8-12, while also coaching a U-12 girls Toorak East Malvern Hockey Club in Melbourne, Australia.

Wright played four seasons at Rutgers, and was named Second Team All-Big East in 2013, while also picking up 2013 Longstreth/NFHCA Second Team All-Mid Atlantic Honors. She appeared on the Big East Weekly Honor Roll three times her career, once during her sophomore season and twice in her senior year. In 2009, she was tabbed as one of four "Young Ambassadors" for the 2012 Olympics.

Lauren Griggs
Volunteer Field Hockey Coach


Lauren Griggs enters her second season as a volunteer field hockey coach. During her first season, the Devils celebrated a variety of accomplishments. The team secured the 2014 Freedom Conference Championship and made it to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Griggs joins the staff after a four-year career at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2011. Griggs played the positions of midfield and attack as a member of the Ducks field hockey team. Griggs also served as a tri-Captain her senior year.

Griggs was honored as the 2007 Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year and was a 2010 Empire 8 First Team All-Conference selection. She was also named an Empire 8 Player of the Week. During Griggs' career, she amassed 55 points (26 goals, 3 assists) and is listed in a few categories of the school record books. During Griggs' career, Stevens won three Conference Championships and participated in the NCAA Regional Semifinals twice. Academically, Griggs was a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Team.

As a coach, Griggs coached the under 16/19 club team All 4 One, volunteered with the Varsity squad at Hillsborough High School, as well as assisted at a USA Field Hockey Futures U16 NJ site. Griggs is also a certified umpire and has officiated at numerous events, including the New Jersey Futures Regional Tournament and Disney Showcase.
Griggs graduated in 2011 from Stevens with a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Griggs works at Becton, Dickinson and Company in Franklin Lakes, NJ and is pursuing an MBA from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
