MADISON, NJ - Senior forward
Alex DeVito (Wayside, NJ/Ocean Twp.) scored three first half goals to lead the College at Florham Devils to a season opening 4-1 win over Oneonta on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Devils improved to 1-0.
DeVito started the scoring with 7:09 gone by in the first half and made it 2-0 just 1:03 later. She then found the back of the cage to make it 3-0 with 17:51 left in the first half. Junior midfielder
Ellen Siracuse (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) gave the Devils a 4-0 lead in the middle of the second half when she converted a pass from senior midfielder
Jackie Gale (New Vernon, NJ/Madison) before the Red Dragons got a late goal to spoil the shutout.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kayleigh White (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) picked up the win in her first collegiate start, making five saves.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, September 5, 2009, against the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in the Stevenson Black Eyed Susan Tournament in Owings Mills, MD, beginning at 10 am.
