ANNVILLE, PA – Junior goalkeeper Alex Kajencki (Medford, MA/Xavierian) was named Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-MAC on Monday morning.  Joining him on the first team were junior attack Kevin Shadiack (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon), senior midfielder Peter Fleming (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon), junior long stick midfielder Rob Novack (Madison, NJ/Madison) and senior defender Mike Patella (Westfield, NJ/Westfield).  Senior midfielder Taylor Hogarth (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) was named to the Second Team while Head Coach Pat Scarpello was named MAC Coach of the Year.

On the season, Kajencki went 12-5 with 166 saves and a 6.89 goals against average.  In the conference among goalies who played at least 10 games, he ranked second in goals against average, third in save percentage (.610) and fourth in saves.  Nationally, he ranks 13th in both goals against average and save percentage.

Shadiack led the Devils with 50 goals, 16 assists and 66 points.  His 50 goals placed him fifth All-Time in FDU history in single-season goals scored while his 145 career points now rank him 14th All-Time in that category.  In the conference, Shadiack was first in goals scored, tied for sixth in assists, second in points, tied for third in game-winning goals and first in shots.  Nationally, he is 22nd in goals per game (2.94) and 40th in points per game (3.88).

Fleming was second on the team in assists (14), shots (88) and points (33) while ranking third in goals (19).

Novack led the Devils with 48 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers while also scoring FDU’s lone man-down goal of the season.  He was also a big part of the defense as he routinely shut down the opposition’s best offensive player.

Patella ranked second on the team in caused turnovers (20) and fourth in ground balls (30) while anchoring a Devil defense that had the second best goals against average in the conference.

Hogarth placed fourth on the team in assists (11) and points (27) while ranking fifth in goals (16).
