Korn played four years of golf for FDU and served as captain
his senior year. He qualified for the NCAA Championships in 1982
and 1983. In 1983, Korn was the runner-up at the Mid Atlantic
Conference Tournament. After graduation, Korn turned pro and
became the assistant professional at Colonia Country Club in
Colonia, N.J. He has worked at Forest Hill Country Club in Bloomfield,
Morris County Country Club in Convent Station, and Cedar Hill
Country Club in Livingston. As a member of the PGA he has won
three assistant professional tournaments. Korn won the 1993 Winter
Tour Championship and has been the winner of three one-day tournaments.
He was a member of the Squire Cup Team from 1987 to 1989. Korn
placed third in the 1997 J.B. Hanauer Classics, and placed ninth
at Player Championships. He qualified for 1984 State Amateur
Championships, and won the Horton Smith Award from the PGA in
1996 and 1997. He qualified for nine State Opens, ten Match Play
Championships, nine U.S. Healthcare Classics and two Player Championships.
He served on the NJPGA Board of Directors from 1994 to 1997,
and was the Education Chairman from 1996 to 1997. In 1990, he
was married to Denise. The couple have two children, Jacqueline,7,
and Gregory,5. The family resides in Madison. |
