Hammond played lacrosse at FDU from 1966 to 1969. He captained
the team in 1968 and 1969, and for his senior campaign, Hammond
was named Second Team All-American and Second Team All-Division.
He ranks all time on the all-time career saves list with 796.
During Hammond's career, the lacrosse team posted a 45-13 record.
He allowed just 4.8 goals per game for the 1969 team that won
the USILA New York Metropolitan Division Championship. That team
was ranked number 16 in the nation with a 13-2 record. Hammond
also played soccer at FDU-Madison from 1966 to 1967. In 1967,
he scored eight goals and had an assist. |
