Saunders played basketball at FDU from 1974-76. After transferring
from Truett McConnell Junior College in Georgia, he was named
team MVP in both his seasons at FDU. Saunders scored 1,174 points
in his career of just two seasons and ranks 11th on the career
scoring list. He averaged 23.0 points per game. Saunders total
of 519 field goals made ranks him eighth in school history. His
career field goal percentage mark of .541 places him third-best
ever at FDU. Saunders holds the school record for points in a
season with 656 in 1974-75 and also has the ninth highest single-season
total with 518 (1975-76). Saunders owns the fourth highest season
scoring average in FDU-Madison history with 23.4 mark in 1974-75
and the fifth highest with 22.5 average. He has the sixth highest
season field goal percentage with .571, which he shot in 1975-76.
Saunders has been working as a contractor in the Petro Chemical
and Facility Management Industry for over 20 years. He has been
working with Lucent technologies for six years and has also worked
with Foster Wheeler Energy, AT&T, Bayer Corporation, and
Merck Chemical. |
