Roger Kindel - Head Coach

His coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Seton Hall, and continued at Dover (NJ) High School where he was an English teacher for 17 years. Kindel, who received his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Seton Hall, had a three-year stint as the boy's head coach at Dover that culminated in a trip to the Group II State Playoffs.

Kindel was a two-year starter at point guard for the Pirates under former FDU-Madison coach and current ESPN & CBS basketball analyst, Bill Raftery. Kindel, a hard-nosed playmaker during his career, is in the top five in single game and season assists at The Hall.

As a scholastic star at Roselle High School, Kindel earned all-state honors for a squad that won the Group II State Championship. Kindel, who had his number retired, is a member of the Roselle High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

The co-director of the "Fundamental Basketball School", he took on further responsibilities in the Fall of 1990 at FDU-Madison when he was named assistant athletic director and head golf coach. He and his wife Valerie reside in West Orange.
