UPDATE # 26 - Summer 2006 Football The enlighened team members had another outstanding spring. Two new school records were set by DL Eric Allen, with a 128 kg. C&J; and LB Dan Mesday with a big 220 squat! These records were set DURING spring football... The team will start its summer workout soon. Here's a sample of their training split: (this just shows the main lifts of the day, not all of the warmup and assistance work) M - ME lower / ME Total body (3 week cycles, 5x,3x,1x) T - DE Upper, (3 week DE cycles) total body TH - DE Lower (3 week DE cycles), pulling F - ME Upper (3 week cycles 5x,3x,1x), rep work If time allows, I'll post some actual workouts this summer. Women's Soccer Women's Soccer will be training 3x a week this summer. They worked tremendously hard this semester, and even did speed training 2x a week. We hope this will be a break through year for them! Men's Basketball Basketball trained with renewed vigor this semester. They lifted 3x a week, and did speed training another 2x a week. The team's strength and quickness has skyrocketed; let's hope they keep up the great work this summer! Field Hockey We think this will be a big year for the field hockey team. They're getting stronger, and we hope that their success in training will have some carryover to the field. Volleyball A few more players have "seen the light", and trained this semester with us. This is another team that was only one game from the NCAA tournament. We trust that their effort will not go unrewarded! |
