UPDATE # 29 - Spring 2007

Football

The players who trained with us this spring did very well. We have a good number of players staying around campus this summer, and they'll be lifting 4 days a week, and running at least 2 times a week with the Strength staff on the turf. It looks like they'll be getting some weighted vests as well, and we'll incorporate them into the metabolic running sessions as the summer rolls on.

Women's Soccer

Soccer had another inspiring spring series of training sessions. This team ran with the strength staff, and totally blew out the record board this spring. We look forward to another great season on the pitch. They were given summer routines, and will be training at various locations this summer.

Baseball and softball are getting used to the idea of an organized training program this year. We had many athletes jump on board, and hope to bring more into the fold next season.

Men’s basketball continued to impress this spring. They had speed development session twice a week all spring, while lifting another 3 days weekly. This team has a great training base, and the vets will be ready to move to a more advanced program next year. Like football, several athletes are joinng us for summer training.

We hope all of our budget requests will be met this summer. If they are, look for an even more updated training facility next year. We should be replacing (and adding) some dumbells, power racks, platforms, and even adding a laser timing system for our speed/agility work. It's a great time to be training at FDU!!!
