UPDATE # 16 - Spring 2003
Football
The Football team has made incredible strides this off season. The team has been extremely dedicated, and it shows. We began a four day / week routine, with two "stength / power" days, and two "speed/explosion" days. The strength days involve the olympic lifts, squats, and presses, as well as some core work. Our intensity ranges from 75% to 100% on these days. On our speed days, the weights vary between 35% and 70%. These days include many of the same movements done on the strength days, but the goal is barbell speed. We want the barbell accelerated as fast as possible during the postive portions of the lifts. Sticking points have been blown away this spring!
We started testing the players week 8, and they go to a one rep max in one exercise at least twice a week. Our team averages (70 players tested) are listed below: Also, we stared regular body compostion (bodyfat) testing. It's been a real eye opener! I'll try to post the top lifts in each test after the semester, as well as the timed test results.

Women's Soccer
The Women's soccer program has made great progress. They've really commited to the program, and finished their first phase of training. They have all been tested in the basic exercises, and are now getting individualized workouts to better themselves. We're still lifting three days a week, through their spring practices. Watch out for this team next fall!
Men's Basketball
The Men's team re-dedicated themselves to training this spring. Most of the team is on a four day routine, and they are finishing their general strength/mass phase. Soon, they'll be moving to a strength/explosive program as well. This team is starting to pack on some much needed size and strength.
