Andy Paulus - Head Coach

A 1996 FDU-Madison graduate, Andy Paulus broke into the coaching ranks in 1998 with the Devils and enters his 8th year, first as head coach.

The former star outfielder owns several offensive records for FDU. One of the most feared hitters in the conference in the early 1990’s, Paulus was walked 75 times in his career, the most-ever at FDU. He owns the Devils’ record for runs scored with 120, and leads second place by 24 runs. His 29 career doubles put him in a three-way tie for the most in Devils history. He ranks second all-time in home runs (13), in hits (153), and in runs batted-in (98). Paulus’ 11 triples tie for the fourth-most ever at FDU.

In 1996, he racked up 35 walks, still the single-season record at FDU. His 39 runs scored that year tie for the single-season FDU record. Paulus’ single-season mark of 13 doubles ties three other players for first place in the FDU record book. His 46 hits in the 1996 season ties for fourth-most in Devils history. He is tied for the third-most on the single-season home run list with six in 1996.

Paulus was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Most Valuable Player in 1996. He was also tabbed for the All-Middle Atlantic Region squad and was an NJCBA all-star in 1996 and All-MAC in 1995. Paulus was key to the Devils success, as they compiled a 91-50-2 mark during his career. He helped FDU to a pair of ECAC championships, the MAC Northeast crown, the MAC tournament title and an NCAA appearance.

As the hitting instructor for the past two seasons, Paulus has guided the Devils to a top 20 ranking nationally in hits and runs scored.

He is also a private instructor at the All-Star Baseball Academy in Morris County where he has tutored hundreds of top players from around the area.

Paulus has previous professional playing experience with the New Jersey Jackals and now resides in East Hanover with his wife Marina and daughter Natalie.
